Only giving 1 star because I couldn't give 0. Terrible communication with Deanna who is in charge of registration. I initially called about a preschool spot for my daughter and was told there's no openings, but then she decided to run the numbers and said they do have 1 more spot they can fill. She took all my information and told me I would be receiving an email with the registration info. Called back 2 days later because I never received the email and was told again it was being sent out shortly. 1 week went by without receiving it and I called back again. Was told she didn't have anything down that my daughter was offered a spot...so she took my info again and said the email would be sent out shortly. Called back again to ensure she had my correct email address and was told she email me it that evening. It's been over a week and still nothing. They like to lie to you here and tell you there is a spot when clearly there is not. I'm actually relieved now that my daughter will not being going to this preschool. How can they be trusted to take care of my daughter if they constantly lie and can't get something as simple as registration correct?
This was my first experience with out of home daycare with my daughter and I was so nervous dropping my kiddo off with all these brand new people. That was over a year ago-- to date, one of the best decisions I've ever made!! My daughter loves going there because there's such a variety of activities and options for play, she loves the other kids and she loves the staff that take care of everything. I am greeted by the center's director, Carly, almost every day and even if it's not her, ALL of the staff greet us and care that we're there. I have no doubt that these are some of the best professionals I've ever encountered--taking care of children is truly their science and they're amazing at it. They call me with any concerns, they want to integrate my daughter's everyday home life into everyday daycare life and fully support her daily bus rides to school and incorporate her curriculum there into her day at Sunshine House. I love this group of people and love how they love and take care of my daughter...
My two kids have been attending the Sunshine House for the past 3 years, starting in the preschool setting and eventually moving up to the "school-age" room. I was a single mom when my sons started attending, and the support my kids and I received here was priceless. My kids have food allergies (gluten and dairy), and the staff has been very accommodating in supporting them by giving them the safe food I provide them. Also, though my kids have sometimes had behavior issues (like all kids do at one time or another) I truly appreciate that I am never given a guilt-trip or had my parenting judged. Rather, it is approached in a problem-solving fashion with the staff asking me for suggestions on how to address it going forward or simply notifying me about an incident so I can stay informed and know how they managed it. Also, both my sons have been well-prepared for school and are thriving thanks to the curriculum and social support they received here. The 12-hour operating window and 10-hours of care provided for the tuition cost have mostly worked well for me with my commute and schedule, though there are days where my husband and I have to coordinate drop-off and pick-up when one of us has a longer day or drive so we don't pay an extra fee for going over the 10 hours. However, I do have to commend that when the school has closed for weather (morning or mid-day) or other days, the Sunshine House is right there picking up the kids (if needed) and giving them a fun indoor play experience while I commute to work or finish my day. So, if you are looking for a reliable, friendly daycare that is a support to the challenges of the modern-day working parent, I highly recommend the Sunshine House!
Our daughter has attended this amazing early learning center for four years and we have been so pleased with everything. From the staff, to the facility, to the trusted care that my daughter receives--we have been so thrilled. Plus, our daughter will start kindergarten in August and we are more than confident that she is 200% prepared and ready to continue her K-5 education!
My son has been at the Sunshine House since he was 2 months old (he's now 7). We've both been very happy with our experience there, from the infant program through school age. The teachers have been fabulous and I've loved getting to know them!
