I had a bad prior experience with a Safelite in California so was nervous to relinquish my Tacoma to them for a front windshield replacement. I even drove over to talk to them about it before I dropped the truck off for repair. They were super friendly and answered all of my questions so we dropped the truck off the next morning. The drop off went smoothly and I was kept informed of the repair progress as the day progressed. When we picked it up the replacement looked beautiful and the truck was obviously cared for. Friendly, polite, quality and efficient process and highly recommended.
The process of getting my chipped windshield repaired was simple and quick. It is not immediately apparent where the Safelite shop is located, but once I found it, everything went smoothly.
Had to get a chip repaired and so I scheduled my appointment through my insurance company. Was able to get in next-day (assuming I came to them instead of waiting for them to come to me, which still only would have been a few extra days.) I dropped my key in the key slot upon, and they kept me updated on the service progress via text and email, with links to the pre-approval and receipt automatically sent. Even though they said they'd need the car all day, the service was compete within a few hours, so I was able to pick up early. Since everything had been emailed to me already, I was able to just grab my key and go! As far as the actual repair, the chip was about the size of a dime and right in my line of sight. After the repair, I can't even tell where the chip was. It looks great and I'm very happy with the service. I'll definitely be coming back here for any future glass work that I need to have done!
This saga began over a week ago. I had some damage to the windshield I called Safelite and they arraigned a technician to come out my way to address the damage. After thoroughly discussing the damage to the windshield he clearly stated that a repair was appropriate. Upon the completion of the repair the damage was clearly evident and I was told that I might want to call my insurance again to have the windshield replaced. Wow!!! So I called insurance to find if it was acceptable to ask for the windshield to be replaced.. They had no concern as long as I paid the deductible. No problem for me. So I called Safelite again and their agent took the information and I was told they will call me back. After four days waiting for a call from Safelite I called them again. I had to wait, on hold again, for over 30 minuted before I had someone to talk to about the problem that Safelite created.I was informed that they they had no record of my call the previous week. So I scheduled another appointment to have the windshield replaced. Two days later the agent arrived with a work order to "repair the windshield", not to replace the windshield. I am into this for a week and a half now. He took the time in a attempt to remedy the problem and could only arrange an appointment yet another week away to have the windshield replaced. They were already booked out and had no time to correct their error. Go to the back of the line........ So I will be waiting for Safelite to address the problem for over 2+ weeks. They have no concern regarding taking responsibility for their failures. So, if you want to be placed into the waste basket like they have done to me give them a call.
