Great hotel. No issues. Breakfast was good. Room was very clean. Staff is incredibly nice. The reason for the deducted star is that on our last day, a gentleman complained to the front desk about something. From my understanding, his complaint was ridiculous to say the least. The hotel treated him with respect and provided a free room. However, once he walked out, one man said very loudly "oh my God" and started laughing and they all began talking loudly about his complaint negatively. I understand it was absurd but from my perspective, it was difficult to enjoy breakfast while they were fussing over it. Quietly talk to your coworkers in the back or whisper about the experience. Don't make it known to everyone in the hotel.
$12 parking fee?? Should have walked then. The check in staff was nice, but the room was quite dated and the tub’s soap dishes were sticky with old residue. The tub and shower head were quite yellowed- whether from age or water quality, both need to be addressed.
Our first assigned room had a bed that was defective! Also appeared that the room hadn't been cleaned. Second room was fine. There must be major farming nearby as the smell in the area was atrocious! Avoid the free breakfast as nothing was good! We had to leave and have breakfast at the nearby IHOP.
Pretty standard Hampton Inn. Good location if you are going to the Rocky Mountains. Hotel itself was fine. Clean, good beds, good breakfast. Everything was good, clean hotel, nice beds. Its also convenient for the shops.
This review is specifically addressing the treatment we recieved from the person working at the front desk named Maggie. Hampton inn is pet friendly. We called ahead to ensure this - multiple times. We have a small cat and a small dog. When we arrived to the hotel exhausted after driving 8 hours, Maggie decide it was appropriate to lecture us about the destructive nature of cats. She took her time being as condescending and rude as possible explaining that we needed to keep our small cat in the restroom for the entirety of our stay because another guest's cat has completely destroyed a room once. I found out from another employee this story was a complete lie. She even tried to downgrade our room and rudely said we should have checked beforehand whether cats are allowed. We did. And they are allowed. She finally backed off when she saw we are diamond members, but guests shouldn't have to have special status to recieve fair treatment.
