It was a good experience. I thought the price was high. $17 for a steak burrito 🌯. They had a sign at the register that due to fuel cost they would add an additional fee weekly. This week it was 4% more than the menu showed. I have never seen that before.
Simply don't feel safe eating here. Very few of the guests in line are encouraged or expected to wear masks, and not a SINGLE employee was properly wearing a mask either. Ordering online has 100% of the time resulted in wrong orders, so the only way to ensure the food is right is to go in person, but with the lack of safety at this restaurant I just can't bring myself to eat there. It's a shame because the food is great and they always get my order right in person, but I guess if I want Cafe Mexicali I'll have to go to the Fort Collins location, and it's not worth the drive.
Good tasting food and staff was generally helpful and friendly but we found the menu complicated/confusing to figure out for our first visit. Restaurant was clean with some patio dining available but overall atmosphere was only okay. Food is served in aluminum round rather tall to go pans which proved somewhat difficult to eat the smothered burrito out of. For the money spent for a family of four, we could have eaten at a nicer restaurant for not much more so Cafe Mexicali I would say was not a good value for the money spent.
I think this restaurant does a fantastic job with the food. Fresh tortillas, great sauces, and fast service. I especially like the habanero sauce, and the pork. The fresh lime drink is so fresh.
Recommended by the local goat yoga folks…it must be good if the lines are this long! We’ll the food was wonderful and large servings , margs tasty and strong, and I thought the menu prices were very reasonable.
